These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ManageSubs app for iOS and Android ("the app"). By downloading or using ManageSubs, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. We've kept this readable on purpose — no walls of fine print.
In plain terms: Use the app responsibly, paid features are billed by Apple or Google rather than by us, and ManageSubs is a tracking tool — not financial advice. Its AI features can be wrong, so check what they tell you. The full detail is below.
1. Use of the App
ManageSubs is a personal tool for tracking your own subscriptions, prices, and budgets. You may use it on the devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or any related services
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the app
You are responsible for the data you enter and for keeping your device secure.
2. Free and Paid Features
ManageSubs is free to download and free to use within the limits of its free tier. Those limits are currently:
- Five active subscriptions. Cancelled and archived records don't count toward the limit.
- One import. Exporting your own data is not limited.
- Home screen widgets require ManageSubs Pro.
ManageSubs Pro removes the subscription and import limits and unlocks widgets. It is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase; the options and prices available to you are shown on the in-app purchase screen.
If you were already tracking more than five active subscriptions before a limit applied to your account, you keep that higher allowance. We may change the free-tier limits in a future version; if we reduce them, we will not retroactively remove access to records you already created.
3. Purchases & Subscription Billing
We do not process payments ourselves. Every purchase is made through the app store you installed the app from, and is charged to the account you use there.
- On iOS — purchases are made through Apple's In-App Purchase and charged to your Apple Account. Manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refund requests are subject to Apple's refund policy.
- On Android — purchases are made through Google Play Billing and charged to your Google account. Manage or cancel in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Refund requests are subject to Google Play's refund policy.
In both cases:
- Billing & renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown at the time of purchase, until cancelled. Cancelling before the end of the current period stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period already paid for.
- Price changes. If the price of a paid subscription changes, the store will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before the change takes effect.
- Refunds. Because Apple and Google are the merchants of record, we cannot process refunds directly. Contact us anyway if something has gone wrong — we can often help, and we can raise a case with the store on your behalf.
- A purchase is tied to one store account. ManageSubs Pro bought on iOS does not unlock ManageSubs Pro on Android, and the reverse is equally true. These are two separate purchases with two separate merchants, and neither store can see the other's receipts.
To be clear: ManageSubs helps you track the subscriptions you pay to other companies. We do not bill you on behalf of Netflix, Spotify, or any other service, and we do not have access to those accounts.
4. Your Data and Backups
Your subscription records are stored on your device. What happens beyond that depends on your platform:
- On iOS, if you enable it, records sync through your own private iCloud database.
- On Android, records may be included in your own Google account backup and in device-to-device transfer, under your Android system backup settings. There is no ManageSubs cloud sync on Android.
The two platforms do not sync with each other. Installing ManageSubs on a second platform gives you a separate, empty database; use the app's export and import features to move records across. Keeping a backup of your data is your responsibility. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Not Financial Advice
ManageSubs is an organizational and tracking tool. Spending figures, projections, currency conversions, and insights are estimates based on the data you enter and are provided for informational purposes only. They are not financial, accounting, or tax advice. Always verify important figures against your own records before making decisions.
AI features. Some features — such as AI Insights and Add with AI — produce text or suggestions automatically, in part with an on-device language model. Automatically generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, even where the figures it restates were calculated from your data. It is general information only: never financial, investment, accounting, tax, or legal advice, and not a recommendation to buy, keep, or cancel anything. Review anything the app suggests before relying on it; decisions about your subscriptions and money remain yours. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any loss, charge, or missed saving arising from reliance on automatically generated content (see sections 6 and 7).
6. No Warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected, or that the data and calculations it produces will be completely accurate.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ManageSubs and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or missed savings — arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app (if any) in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
8. Changes to the App & These Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time; when we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer of ManageSubs is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your own place of residence.
Nothing in these Terms limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with mandatory consumer protections, those rights — including any right of withdrawal and any statutory warranty — apply in addition to these Terms and take precedence where they conflict with them.
